POSITION SUMMARY

Directs all areas of financial reporting from review of original account entry to budget preparation and analysis.                                

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Establishes, or recommends to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company.  Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs.  Responsible for due from reconcilements.  Responsible for wire transfer service.

Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.  Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.

Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.  Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.  Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.  Arranges for audits of company's accounts.  Prepares quarter end CALL reports (FFIEC 041) and Bank Holding Company reports (FR Y-9LO & FR Y-9C) for review by the FRB and FDIC.  Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions.  Adheres to appropriate Risk Management policies.

Adheres to appropriate Compliance policies and procedures.  Monitors subordinates to ensure understanding and adherence to said Compliance policies and procedures.  Adheres to Bank Secrecy Act.

COMPUTER SKILLS

This job requires excellent word processing and spreadsheet application.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads an accounting department of eight employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

Ten to fifteen years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and general business math skills.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certified Public Accountant license required
