Assist in maintaining control charts on key tests
Track, review, evaluate, recommend actions for Motor Fuels round robin tests
Communicate motor fuel compliance issues to laboratory personnel
Maintain Worksheets for applicable fuel products
Oversee Lab's responsibilities for gasoline 10% Option Pool
Coordinate with Gasoline Blender Optimizer and other Fuels Optimizers
Maintain record retention and management of fuels related documents and records in accordance with regulatory and FHR Records Retention policy
Create new or modify existing LIMS samples and test profiles as required by specification changes
Review Fuels related specification proposals and CMF's, approve Technical Reviews, communicate changes
Assist in the maintenance and calibration of fuels instruments
Review and update test methods
Maintain awareness of laboratory instrumentation best practices
Recommend instrumentation for Capital 5 year plan
Keep aware of new testing methods and make recommendations as needed
Communicate with instrumentation vendors
Minimum 5 years experience in a Refining, Petrochemical, or Chemical industry laboratory Experience with laboratory analytical instrumentation Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education Required:
BS/BA Chemistry
Work Experience Preferred:
Laboratory experience in a refining laboratory, knowledgeable of fuels testing requirements Experience with ASTM D02 fuels test methods Experience in preparing detailed reports for management and/or regulatory agencies Instrumentation troubleshooting skills Experience with problem solving techniques such as Kepner-Tregoe
