Materials Management Functional Excellence Director

Job Description

The Materials Management Functional Excellence Director is responsible for Material Management process/sub-processes and directs adoption of functional excellence globally; develops the work processes for global operations in accordance with appropriate regulations and laws; and ensures Materials Management functional excellence by maintaining a systematic, sustainable, reliable, cost/tax efficient and compliant approach to supply chain activities with the optimum levels of inventory supported by documented work processes, associated systems and training.  

Responsibilities may include:

• Lead the development and implementation of global functional standards and key procedures, framework and management of change efforts. Through effective influence management, lead the change management efforts to implement the new work processes for global operation
• Lead a global project that addresses gaps in policies, accounting procedures, technology utilization, process standardization and effectiveness, performance measurement and skill set development. Deliver recommendations and an implementation plan that drive the materials management function to an ideal state for
• Guide and facilitate compliance with Materials Management policies in alignment with Corporate and governmental regulations
• Maintain the overall delivery framework within which GPS operates e.g. Materials Management Operating Model:
  • Fulfillment
  • Store/Inventory
  • Replenishment
  • Risk Mitigation
  • Surplus Disposal
  • Compliance
  • Monitor and Improve
  • Best Practices/Networks of Excellence
  • Talent Management

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Bachelor's degree
• 10+ years of change leadership
• 3+ years of Supply Chain expertise
• 3+ years demonstrated interpersonal and teambuilding skills
• 3+ years demonstrated ability to effectively communicate at all levels in the organization
• 3+ years demonstrated technical competence in project execution

• Cross functional energy exposure
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
• Ability to influence colleagues at all levels without direct accountability
• Ability to build consensus around issues and drive to a resolution through collaboration
