The Senior Statistician will be responsible for working with the QTG Demand Planning Team to develop effective forecasting approaches that deliver high levels of forecast accuracy across all Business Units of QTG. This role will be responsible for developing forecast algorithms that leverage causal factors & time series. The algorithms will have to be proven, hardened and coded in the Demand Planning Software (SAS/SAP).

Key Responsibilities:
• Work with Demand Planning team to develop effective forecasting approaches that meet the business needs for each of the QTG BU's (Tropicana, Quaker Foods & Gatorade)
• Conduct forecast analysis to determine the optimal approach for interactive planning that each division should use.
• Conduct causal factor analysis for each business to determine the most optimal factors that should be leveraged in the forecasting approach.
• Write custom forecast algorithms in the selected Demand Planning software application.
• Identify opportunity areas and provide creative solutions that modify forecasting approach to deliver higher forecast accuracy.
• Develop reporting capability to provide alert notification for users.
• Work with the Demand Planning and Modeling Teams to provide configuration and modeling recommendations that support the QTG Demand Planning vision.
• Develop modeling approaches to support promotional activity planning, new product introductions, discontinued products as well as other business change activities..
Requirements: Minimum Job Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research or Econometrics
• 5-7 Years experience in a CPG or retail planning environment
• Experience with software modeling language (i.e. SAS, SPSS, etc.).
• Strong analytical skill. Ability to identify relationships within data and draw inferences.
• Proficient Computer skills: MS Office specifically spreadsheet utilization.
• Effective communications skills with ability to work across multiple levels and different organizational functions.
• Experience with packaged Demand Planning Software is desired (SAP APO, Manugistics, i2).
• Broad functional experience with insight to Sales, Finance and Supply Chain processes.

• PhD (ideally mathematics, statistics, operations research or econometrics)-- IF-and only IF the candidate has CPG background, would we consider a Masters

• Experience doing statistical modeling and forecasting for supply chain (manufacturing)

• SAS (ideally), or similar modeling tool

• Supervisory experience

• CPG -is strongly desired by the hiring manager.

This role will be doing statistical modeling and forecasting for supply chain. We are trying to create a better forecast for our supply chain (demand/supply planning). They will be looking at historical data for forecasting and doing the promotional analysis and taking the base line forecast and add to it.
