Treasury Director

Job Description:

The Treasury Director is responsible for the strategic vision and management of cash and investments; management of investments and reporting of $350+ million portfolio; integration and leadership of the  Investment Committee; cash management and cash forecasting; coordinating relationships with banks, investment managers, custodians, and consultants; staying abreast of economic/market conditions and regulatory compliance and supervising the Senior Accountant-Treasury.

Additional Responsibilities Will Include:
'Coordinate and lead activities of the Investment Committee, including meeting agendas and minutes. Provide advice and information to Investment Committee, including proposed changes to 's Investment Standards, portfolio re-balancing and economic/market conditions.
'Serve as the primary point of contact to the investment consultant, including directing consultant activities and review of materials prior to distribution to management and volunteers.

'Analyze liquidity requirements and recommend appropriate short term and long term investment allocations, ensuring the operating bank account has sufficient funds to meet current obligations.
'Prepare both the National Center and association-wide cash flow forecasts and present results to senior management. Coordinate with Director of Revenue and Director of Financial Reporting to ensure relevant revenues and expenditures are incorporated. Analyze and ensure accuracy of affiliate prepared cash forecasts.
'Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly and quarterly investment reports.
'Responsible for the analysis and interpretation of various regulatory and reporting requirements related to investments (i.e., UPMIFA, fair value estimates and related disclosures, FASB ASC, statutory reporting for charitable gift annuities and pooled income funds).

'Coordinate the hiring and termination of banking and investment managers and investment consultants, including the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
'Ensure investing activities are in accordance with 's Investment Standards.
'Provide investment income projections and evaluate/revise as necessary.
'Ensure assigned audit working papers and investment valuations are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.

'Interface with various affiliate staff to ensure the timely liquidation and receipt of stock gifts.
'Ensure Corporate Resolutions are prepared for annual Board approval.
'Set-up procedures for sweeps to national cash concentration account for affiliate bank accounts and ensure accuracy of inter-company cash settlement activity.
'Manage National Center and Affiliate endowment investments and investment earnings.
'Conduct special projects as requested according to established deadlines.
'Complete training courses to improve the skills necessary to successfully perform responsibilities.
'Establish and maintain a positive work environment for staff. Maximize employee engagement by stressing teamwork and providing staff with adequate resources, training, support and vehicles by which concerns may be communicated to management.

Experience:

Qualified candidates will have the following experience and background:

'CFA Certification and Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (major in Finance or Accounting). MBA a plus.
'8+ years of financial experience including financial planning and analysis.
'Strong knowledge in managing cash and investments, cash forecasting, asset allocations and various standards/policies for investing funds.
'Experience working with investment advisors and money managers.
'Knowledge of international investment vehicles a plus.

'In-depth understanding of the principles of planning, budgeting, assigning, directing, coordinating and reviewing work.
'Skilled in use and management of automated accounting systems.
'Skilled in using spreadsheet applications such as Microsoft Excel.
'Ability to effectively train and supervise staff.
'Highly skilled in oral and written communications.
'Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of  National Center, Affiliate staff and volunteers.
'Ability to analyze financial data and interpret into both oral and narrative form.
'Excellent customer service skills.
