Immediate opportunity:

Our client, a leading distributor of MRO products, is looking for a VICE PRESIDENT OPERATIONS to lead our purchasing, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and packaging departments. This highly visible leadership position will be based in Dallas, will report directly to the President, and will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

This position will be responsible for the following:

• Manage the planning and procurement of all products sold.
• Manage the procurement of all goods and services in support of our home office.
• Prepare and review bid proposals and negotiate contracts.
• Maintain operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Handle the security of merchandise.
• Maintain an optimum balance of inventory to provide excellent customer service while maximizing store fill rates.

• Manage the redeployment of inventory.
• Utilize time-phased replenishment to insure the uninterrupted flow of materials from suppliers to our end users.
• Source new and secondary suppliers and negotiate pricing to insure the timely delivery of products at the best value possible to the company.
• Ensure that the highest quality standards possible are achieved and maintained.
• Evaluate performance and develop training plans along with our Training Department to ensure all team members have the necessary skills to meet company needs and objectives.

• Partner with our Sales and Marketing teams to develop and launch new product lines, ensure competitive pricing, define target customer requirements, and coordinate product-shipping logistics.

• Serve as part of the Hi-Line Senior Leadership Team and participate in formulating and administering strategic and operating plans.

• Partner with IT to ensure legacy and other systems improve logistics and operating performance throughout the company.

What We Require:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Proven track record in a senior level operations management role.

• Experience in developing, defining, and execution of near and long-term strategic planning.

• Commitment to pro-active communication and relationship building.

• Experience with systems conversions and migrations.

• Sourcing and vendor management experience.
• Outstanding written, interpersonal communication, presentation skills, and professional polish.
