Director, Professional Liability
Scottsdale, AZ location
Reporting to the Regional Vice President, our
selected seasoned professional will develop and implement strategic
underwriting plans and provide business forecasting and profitability within
regions.
Key responsibilities include approving accounts that are complex or premium
in nature, developing and monitoring the expense budget and directing the
development and implementation of underwriting guidelines, rates, forms and
product endorsements. Additionally, you will regularly visit with general
agents/brokerage. People management duties include hiring, performance
management and training/development.
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree and completion of general insurance course preferred
10+ years underwriting experience, including 5 years of management
experience
Knowledge of complex underwriting polices and practices, insurance laws,
treaty and facultative reinsurance and employment principles
Demonstration of advanced negotiation skills
Able to work with a wholesale/general agency/brokerage distribution
system
Ability to analyze highly complex insurance risks
Experience with coaching and mentoring
