European Auditor

Main purpose of job:

To support the firm across the European region to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of our quality and compliance processes and to identify and spread best practice.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

• Visit each of the firm's European offices regularly to identify, analyze and report risks within business units.
  
  
• Use analytical and conceptual thinking to formulate recommendations appropriate to the situation and to identify opportunities to improve processes.
  
  
• Based on risk assessment develop audit programs, compile audit reports and follow-up on action points.
  
  
• Assist with quality initiatives driven by practices as required.
  
  
• Proactively seek to raise awareness across the firm of the importance of quality improvement and risk management.
  
  
• View and provide feedback on new or revised procedures.
  
  
• Form an integral part of the risk management team.
  
  
• Develop and maintain appropriate relationships at all levels to gain confidence and respect of internal clients and to solicit input and ideas.
  
  
• Learn organizational structure and nature of work of Watson Wyatt and apply that knowledge to the areas audited.

Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge:

• Previous experience of compliance monitoring and auditing, ideally gained in a professional services environment industry.
  
  
• Knowledge of audit practices, tools, techniques, concepts and trends.
  
  
• Strong listening and communication skills (fluent language skills would be a significant advantage).
  
  
• The successful candidate will be self motivated and be able to demonstrate the ability to progress tasks to completion.
  
  
• Ability to influence in a collaborative way, taking on board political sensitivities.
  
  
• Able to command respect and credibility in a demanding professional firm.
  
  
• Good team working skills.
