How do I list my company's search assignments?

Employers can engage our consultants to scan the market place for candidates that meet their requirements by:  Calling our office and providing our consultants with a detailed verbal description of their requirements.  Or send  printed position descriptions to us by US mail, email or by completing our online employer search assignment form found on our contact us page.

The answer to this question understandably varies with the degree and difficulty of each individual search assignment. We typically can conclude most executive search assignments in a timely manner coinciding with the desired hire date set by the client.

Is the Pailin Group a retainer or contingency search firm?

We are a retained executive search and recruiting firm.  All fees are paid exclusively by the employers and there is never a cost to the candidate. Contingency firms charge candidates and typically cannot offer opportunities with premier organizations.

The old fashioned way.  We diligently recruit them!  Although many of our search techniques and strategies are customized and not shared with the general public.  We do utilize some of the standard avenues used in our industry.  Including relying heavily on the database of professionals we maintain in-house that has been some ten plus years in the making.  We also have the trust and respect from our clients and candidates to alert us of super achievers in the market place.  And lastly we ethically infiltrate the ranks of your competitors and others and present your requirements to only the most qualified and receptive professionals.

Will your consultants limit the scope of your search to only local candidates if I desire?

Yes certainly! Our clients dictate the search criteria. Employers can instruct our consultants to recruit only in your local metropolitan areas or expand to national or even go global.  As a rule we start all searches by trying to save our clients relocation costs by recruiting locally. The market typically dictates the necessity to expand the search parameters if need be.

Who pays the fee?

All fees are paid by the employers retaining our services.  There is never a fee for the candidate.  Thus we are employed by the clients and they dictate our search criteria.

Do you guarantee the performance of the new employee hired through your efforts? 

Yes we do provide employers with a service guarantee. If any employee hired through our efforts leaves your firm or is terminated with just cause within the first thirty (30) days of employment, we will replace the employee upon five (5) days written notification. For this guarantee to be in effect all fees must be received within ten (10) days from the new employee’s original start date. It is understood that the Pailin Group cannot guarantee the performance of the candidate. Our responsibility is to present qualified applicants for your review and consideration per the requirements issued by your organization. The formal extension of an offer of employment is the responsibility of the employer. However, as a service to our clients, Professional Search Consultants can extend offers to candidates upon authorization from the employer.

No, never! In our industry there are two types of distinguishing characteristics given to all organizations in the market place.  They are simply, client companies or source companies.  We would never break the trust we have we earned and jeopardize the business relationships with our clients by recruiting their employees for others.

Will the consultants call or write me every week to inform me of my candidate status?

Although we would love to talk with you everyday! Unfortunately our consultants frankly are so totally consumed with research and locating the best talent in the market place per our clients current requirements time constraints won't allow this practice.  

However when you do get a call from our offices.  Responding immediately could be a career decision.  Therefore please never assume that because we cannot call you everyday that we have discarded your information.  On the contrary! We realize how busy you are and respect your time by only contacting you when we have substantive information to report.  

Additionally you can rest assured that each assignment begins with an internal review of the background of every qualified candidate in our database. Therefore if your information is housed in our confidential files.  You will get first consideration regarding all opportunities that parallel your credentials.  

We have found that most professionals appreciate this posture. They fully understand that we do in fact work for the employers and cannot conduct personal employment searches for individuals.

I've never heard of the Pailin Group.  Is this a new company?  Are you some type of employment agency?

Last question first.  We are not an employment agency and want to make this distinction clear at the outset.  We are a retained executive search consulting firm listed among the nations' best.  In operation since 1989.  We are based in Dallas Texas with regional offices in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. We serve premier organizations that can't afford to compromise in securing their greatest assets, their people.

Perhaps one reason why you have not heard of us is because we typically do not do a lot of advertising.  We are called in by organizations primarily after traditional advertising, other avenues including internet, and after our competitors have failed.  We see no reason to duplicate their advertising efforts.  Our experiences have shown that the most productive professionals in the market place today are not regularly looking through the classifieds.

First of all thank you for submitting your information for our consultants review.  We are pleased that you have selected our firm to help further leverage your career.  We sincerely hope to present you with a career opportunity in the near future on behalf of our clients.  However as a rule unless we do in fact have an opportunity currently to present, our consultants will not contact you again until we have a search assignment that parallels your credentials.  We will maintain your information in our database and will not mass mail or present your information to anyone without your expressed authorization.

I live in Utah and the Pailin Group has presented an opportunity in New York.  Who pays for my interview transportation and lodging expenses?

Most of our clients will assume all travel and relocation cost associated with securing the winning profile per their requirements.  All compensation, benefits, relocation, and interview expense information is thoroughly covered with candidates in advance by our consultants for each assignment. Also in our active search assignment & current recruiting listings, relocation assumption status is indicated within the search criteria outlined.

Do any of the Pailin Group's clients require physical exams, drug testing, credit or background investigations?

Most of our clients do require some form of verifications of education, physical health, credit, and other.  Frankly some are more stringent than others depending on the level of the opportunity and the type of organization.  All verifications are presented to each candidate during our recruiting process for their approval. The choice is solely up to the candidate if he or she wishes to agree and sign off on these verifications or not. Please note that declining mandatory verifications imposed by our clients may end further candidacy consideration.  

The Pailin Group at a minimum, will require citizenship, education, employment and reference verification prior to submission of all candidate information to our clients.

One of your consultants called me but would not release the name of the employer that wanted to recruit me.  Why?

Many of our executive level assignments are conducted in a highly confidential manner.  Although we will be representing an actual opportunity with a viable organization. In some instances for security, competitive and other reasons. Our clients have requested that their specific contact and other related information be shielded from all candidates until there is a true mutual interest.  In these instances all appropriate information will be shared only after our client has selected a qualifying pool to release all pertinent information to including location, salary, position responsibilities etc. 

It sounds secretive but in today's competitive market place it is not uncommon and a large percentage of our assignments fall into this category.

Should I call your consultants every week to check my candidate status?

Please do not!  Although we would love to talk with you.  We probably will not have the time to do so. We welcome you updating our files with new contact information, position changes, promotions and the like.  However if everyone in our database did the same we would not be able to effectively recruit for candidates that meet our clients needs. Which is truly the essence of our business. Thus please trust we will contact you when we have substantive information to report.

If I see a position advertisement from a company can I call to have your consultants present my background to the employer?

It depends on what company the position is with. If we have a relationship with that organization surely it would be in your best interest to have a trusted Pailin Group consultant present and represent you.  

If not we would recommend that you pursue that great opportunity on your own with our high hopes and best encouragement that you get it.  Then call our consultants later on to help when you start cleaning house and staffing up with persons that will respond to your management style and your high productivity levels.

What is the preferred method to get my information to your consultants?

There are many ways to send information to our firm.  However the preferred method is over the internet by email.  Please send all information inline with no attachments. Also the Pailin Group or one of our consultants must be in the to column. Mass mailed, courtesy copied, blind copied or sender undisclosed messages are not acceptable.
