Job Description:
The Managing Director for the Consulting Practice is responsible for
directing the consulting business including identifying revenue goals
and strategic resources to deliver sophisticated consulting services to
members. This position is responsible for planning, developing and
implementing strategies that deliver consulting advice; building an
industry-leading consulting business; and fostering external business
relationships. This position supervises the Senior Consultant(s).
Specific Responsibilities:
• Direct all consulting operations and staff members managing client
projects to ascertain and define needs or problems, and determine scope
of project or investigation required to obtain solution.
• Partner with Marketing, Member Services, and Research to plan,
develop, and implement new programs and ideas to promote and increase
Consulting services.
• Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making
issues affecting the organization. Participate in the development of the
organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner.
• Participate as a member of Senior Management Team in formulating and
administering company policies and developing budgets, long range goals
and objectives.
• Create and implement methods and procedures for developing and
monitoring projects such as revenue forecasts, expense reports, progress
reports, staff conferences, and on client needs or problems to obtain
data required for implementing solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Professional Experience:
• Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent with four to ten years of
related consulting experience, preferably in financial services.
• Must have extensive knowledge of wealth management disciplines,
including wealth management structures, wealth management strategies,
investing strategies, philanthropy, and reporting and record keeping.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical
journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to
common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or
members of the business community.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and
recommend solutions for complex family and financial problems.
• Outstanding written and verbal presentation and communication skills.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publications that conform to
firm style and format.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
Database and Contact Management systems; and Internet research
experience.

• Must have superior ability to understand, interpret and respond to
complex project management, project delivery and problem resolution.
• Ability to provide strong leadership to drive service strategies in a
fast-paced, continuously changing business environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a multi-manager,
entrepreneurial environment.
• Must have superior relationship building skills to develop strong
relationships with senior management and business line leadership, and
have the ability to build an outstanding team.
• Willingness to work on client projects on weekend assignments.
