Our client develops and delivers Concentrated
Solar Power Tower systems for utility-scale renewable power
production and energy storage. HS, working through its Space
Land and Sea (SLS) Rocketdyne (HSR) business unit, is
responsible to develop and deliver End-to-End Molten Salt
Systems for the capture, storage, and distribution of thermal
energy from the collector (heliostat) system to the steam
generation system which, in turn, enables electric power
production through a conventional steam power plant (Rankine)
cycle. HSR also provides System Engineering services to
SolarReserve for CSP plant-level definition and performance
assessments, including plant-level optimization of the heliostat
field configuration and related control software for the solar
portions of the power plant.
Integrated Product Team (IPT) Manager responsible to lead and
manage the Molten Salt Major Subcontract Equipment team efforts
for all HSR Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) Programs. This
position is accountable to the CSP Program Manager for
technical, cost and schedule performance of the Molten Salt
Major Subcontract Equipment team effort associated with CSP
development programs. This position also has lead responsibility
for related Molten Salt Major Subcontract Equipment proposal
efforts associated with CSP contract change proposals.
Specific job responsibilities for the CSP Molten Salt Major
Subcontract Equipment IPT include:
Support to the CSP SEIT for development and maintenance of all
Molten Salt Major Subcontract Equipment procurement
specifications and related interface control documents.
Procure supplier engineering efforts for Molten Salt Major
Subcontract Equipment to trade/optimize/define the configuration
and component performance to specified equipment requirements.
Manage supplier engineering efforts to develop and maintain
mechanical design models, electrical design models and
schematics, related engineering drawings, and related
configuration management efforts for Molten Salt Major
Subcontract Equipment.
Define Molten Salt Major Subcontract Equipment operating,
calibration, maintenance, and software control requirements to
the CSP SEIT.
Lead integration, conduct, and closeout for all Molten Salt
Major Subcontract Equipment design reviews.
Procure and deliver Molten Salt Major Subcontract Equipment for
on-site construction installation, checkout, and activation.
Develop Molten Salt Major Subcontract Equipment procedures for
system checkout and acceptance testing, and to support training
of site operators.
Coordination with SEIT and off-site plant construction efforts
for installation support, technical issue resolution, and change
control documentation related to Molten Salt Major Subcontract
Equipment IPT.
Support SEIT risk management activities for the Molten Salt
Major Subcontract Equipment, including risk identification,
tracking, mitigation, and closeout efforts for each assigned
risk.
Support SEIT configuration and data management efforts for
procured Molten Salt Major Subcontract Equipment.
Cost account planning, project scheduling, reporting and issue
resolution for above scope of work.
Support technical definition and change proposal development for
contract changes impacting the Molten Salt Major Subcontract
Equipment.
A bachelors degree or higher in engineering or a related
technical field is required. A masters degree and/or other
business training are desirable.
Candidate must have at least 10 years of experience in leading
and managing major supplier development team efforts as an IPT
manager, project engineer, lead engineer or equivalent.
Direct knowledge and experience with leading successful major
subcontract hardware development and/or procurement teams is
required.
Knowledge and experience in commercial subcontracting with
associated performance guarantees, liquidated damages, and
product warranties is required.
Subcontract management experience in relevant power/energy
systems, molten salt systems, and/or power plant engineering,
construction and operation is required.
Demonstrated subcontract project management skills are required,
including earned value and risk management.
Demonstrated excellent customer/supplier interfacing and
presentation skills are required.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and
written, are essential.
Working experience leading technical definition and change
proposal development is required.
Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office, is required
for planning, coordination, and reporting.
Ability to travel part-time is required for
customer/site/supplier coordination, predominately to locations
in North America.
Working knowledge of Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne/HSR program
operating procedures is desirable.
Knowledge of HSR solar thermal/energy system core competencies
and capabilities is desirable.
