A. Investment Manager Research and Oversight
o Evaluation and selection of the investment strategies and
sub-advisors, including development of an annual investment plan
o Oversight and monitoring of the managers – their investment processes,
teams, and performance
o Oversight and due-diligence on funds and their managers, including
responsibility for all additions, replacements, and fund substitutions
B. Fund Management
o In conjunction with General Manager, Operations, Legal, and Finance,
responsible for the creation of new funds with attendant policies and
procedures as they pertain to investment policy
C. Reporting
o Internal reporting on the performance of managers and sub-advisors
o Reporting and analysis for Field Wholesalers and Financial Advisors
o Principal Investment officer reporting to the Fund Board for the
performance and investment activities of the sub-advisors
D. Product Development and Marketing
o Assist General Manager and Product Heads with development of new life
and annuity products
o Assist, as necessary, with Development and Management of discretionary
asset allocation models, including presentation of the same to Field
Wholesalers and Financial Advisors
o Preparation of Sales presentations on investment aspects of life
insurance and annuity products, typically covering both Sub-advised and
VIT portfolios
o Development of historical performance of funds and models versus
benchmarks
o Development and presentation of Investment Process at sales meetings,
to Key Distributors and, in conjunction with marketing, in marketing
materials
o Development and Reporting on Fund Profiles
Basic Qualifications:
- 1-15 years of Portfolio Management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Significant experience interacting with Senior Fund Company Mgmt and
Fund Boards
- Advanced designation (CFA or appropriate)
