Material Ledger Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Cost Accounting Manager Serve as a key point of contact for Regional Operations Finance (OF), Centers of Excellence (CoEs), and OF Active Ingredient (AI) analysts.

  • Lead the quarterly costing process by interfacing cross functionally with business partners in finance, procurement, operations, and IT.  Including running costing in SAP, analyzing cost changes, triage and fix costing errors.

  • Participate in the annual budgeting process supporting both the finance, procurement, supply chain, and operations teams.  Including- data loading price loading, cost center loading, activity rate loading, and helping guide business partners in understanding costing outcomes.

  • Assist the annual costing process.  Similar to the quarterly costing process.  Including - data loading, running costing in SAP, analyzing cost changes, triage and fix costing errors.

  • Provide backup support for monthly material ledger and closing cockpit activities. Uses the ML module in SAP which is close centrally for the entire company.  The ML module requires a separate closing process which is run during month end close.  Processing and monitoring results is needed.   

  • Perform quality control on master data and provide support for master data governance process.

  • Manage relationships with business partners and personnel across manufacturing plants to support system investigation / drill down.  Including variance analysis, process order analysis, manufacturing cost center analysis 

  • Ability to travel to manufacturing locations (as needed)

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in cost or inventory accounting required (preferably in manufacturing)

  • Prior experience using SAP, specifically running standard costs required. 

  • Knowledge of SAP Material Ledger & other SAP modules a plus.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite - especially Excel

  • General knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, and operations

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with several business partners globally

  • Proficient in English language

  • Strong technical skills and understanding of data structures and dataflows

  • Strong understanding of financial information

  • Creativity and problem-solving capabilities to structure robust visualizations

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities                

  • BA / BS in Accounting / Finance (or local equivalent) required CPA, CMA, MBA or local equivalent preferred
