Vice President of Engineering

In this role, the VP of Engineering will:

·      Have an in-depth knowledge of all steps related to project design completion and diligently communicate with necessary people to ensure timely execution.

·      Communicate project ideas through sketches and 3D modeling programs such as AutoCad & Autodesk Revit

·      Conduct site evaluations to ensure quality of work and adherence to design standards

·      Be capable of coordinating with professionals across engineering trades to develop drawings, racking layouts, and other engineering documents

·      Oversee and make recommendations throughout construction process

·      Collaborate and interact with various teams in order to establish goals, schedules and budgets through phone, teleconference, and face-to-face meetings

·      Design a project in coordination with client requirements, code requirements, specifications, and goals.

·      Work collaboratively with office staff, project management staff, and customers.

·      Maintain project files including correspondence and other relevant materials associated with projects.

·      Assist during the construction administration in the review and processing of shop drawings and approvals of material samples.

·      Communicate between internal and external project team members

·      Be able to work on multiple, concurrent projects

·      Demonstrate judgement through ability to prioritize tasks & suggestions for project improvement

·      Play a strong role in the investigation and design of projects

·      Be comfortable in navigating building and zoning codes

·      Have ability to interact with governing agencies to obtain required project approvals, permits, etc.

·      Be capable of expressing project goals and coordinating efforts towards them

·      Continually share expertise and knowledge within the firm as we consistently strive to improve the quality of our work

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in either civil or structural engineering; a minimum of 5 years of related experience in a similar or related field. Strong organizational, executive, and presentation skills will also be cornerstones of this position. PE licensure is preferred but not required.

·      Strong knowledge of construction drawing standards and code compliance.

·      Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on showing initiative

·      Focus in industrial, distribution, and food industries preferred

·      High accountability

·      A proven manager and collaborator

·      Broad range of project type and industrial type experience preferred

·      Technical understanding of construction and processes

·      Have an interest in growing with the firm and being an essential part of a successful organization
