THE ROLE
Work as an Executive Director-Strategic Relationships. This role is a critical leadership position, responsible for driving significant revenue growth and expanding our market share with the US pharmaceutical and biotechnology sections. The ideal candidate would be located on the East Coast.
Responsibilities
Employees may be required to perform some or all of the following:
Lead, mentor, and motivate a small Business Development team, fostering a high-performance, client-centric culture
Provide strategic guidance, coaching, and hands-on support to team members on pipeline development, proposal generation, negotiation, and closing strategies specific to biometric services
Conduct regular pipeline reviews, performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement
Collaborate with HR and senior leadership on talent acquisition, development, and retention for the US BD team
Identify, prospect, and cultivate new strategic partnerships with key decision-makers (e.g., Heads of Biometrics, Clinical Operations, Data Management, R&D) within pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies
Develop and execute comprehensive account plans for top-tier strategic accounts, identifying opportunities for expansion and deepening our service offerings across various clinical phases
Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives, effectively articulates the value proposition of our biometrics services (biostatistics, data management, statistical programming, etc) in addressing their specific drug development challenges
Negotiate and close complex, multi-year master service agreements (MSAs) and project-based contracts, ensuring alignment with client needs and company profitability targets
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a scientific or business discipline
Master's or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field highly preferred
Individual, ideally located on the East Coast in the US
8+ years of progressive experience in business development, strategic alliances, or enterprise sales within the Contract Research Organization (CRO) industry, specifically targeting pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients
Deep and demonstrable understanding of biometrics services (biostatistics, clinical data management, statistical programming, PK/PD analysis, medical writing) and their critical role in drug development.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading and managing a high-performing business development or sales team within a CRO environment
