Position Summary:
Seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team. In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer will assist the Foundry operations team in meeting its strategic goals for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and cash. The key aspect of this role is reduction of scrap through quality tracking, standard work and Kaizen activities. Interested candidates, who meet the requirements below, are encouraged to apply today!
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leads and facilitates kaizen activities using process knowledge, basic engineering principles and lean tools.
Encourages cross-functional groups to assure the production of the highest quality casting at the lowest overall casting cost.
Reviews customer drawings and specifications to determine the required QA testing, and standard work activities needed to meet the customer requirements.
Prepares and maintains manufacturing documentation – including standard work, routings, BOM - for new and existing products in manufacturing.
Prepares documentation using Excel, JD Edwards MRP system, CAD packages, Word, and digital photography.
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Develops new technology to support innovation and adaptability in the casting process.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
BS degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology
Experience working in a foundry or FEF education
2+ years technical experience in a manufacturing environment
Continuous improvement and process design
Promotes teamwork and collaboration
Ability to understand and trouble-shoot industrial equipment
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong organizational skills
Proactive and self-motivated
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Metallurgical background.
Process capability/reliability analysis using Minitab
MRP software using JD Edwards or equivalent
Previous experience in ISO 9001/13485 Quality Management Systems
Lean Manufacturing tools (RCCM, Poke yoke, CCF, MMF)
Green Belt in Six Sigma
