Primary Objective:

The Territory Sales Manager – Japan reports to the Country Manager for Japan and is responsible for generating revenue within an assigned geographic area by closing sales. They will sell cyber security products and services to end users through indirect sales channels such as value added resellers (VARs), resellers, service providers and distributors. 


  • Develop sales plan, go-to-market strategy and perform sales activities for an assigned geographic area to achieve or exceed assigned revenue

  • Contact new and existing clients and partners to discuss their needs and how to best utilize the organization's products and services to achieve their intended outcome

  • Create and perform sales presentations to match organization's products/services with identified needs

  • Maintain regular contact with customers to ensure satisfaction

  • Maintaining an understanding of WatchGuard's strategic direction, product roadmap, competitive landscape and interpreting its relevance to the target industries

  • Arrange licensing agreements with distributors, channel partners, MSSP’s, resellers

  • Arrange volume sales and bulk discount agreements

  • Work with Pre Sales, Marketing and other Lines of Business (LOBs) to maximize the return from the assigned Territory

Education, Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales management, related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 8+ years direct and indirect sales experience in IT industry with a strong preference for background in cyber security.

  • Fluency (written and spoken) in English and Japanese

  • Proven record of sales excellence, with a proven and consistent achievement of assigned objectives and quotas

  • Proven ability to develop specific plans to ensure revenue growth in assigned geographic area

  • Knowledge of networking infrastructure and Internet security industry is an important requirement

  • Understanding of Cloud infrastructure and WiFi technologies are a plus

  • Excellent communication (oral or written) and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic sales environment.

Greater than 50% or as required to exceed sales objectives.
