The Director of Advocacy, Legislative Affairs & Community Engagement contributes by supporting advocacy, growth, and relationship building efforts focused on issues relevant in the Southern Bureau. The Director of Advocacy, Legislative Affairs & Community Engagement enhances the reputation by contacting individuals and groups having similar interests in order to develop advocacy and policy issues of mutual benefits, supporting Mobilizers and their activations, and researching, compiling and cataloguing Southern Bureau Advocacy legislative and community building information.
You will be a passionate advocate for our top initiatives. To be successful as the Director of Advocacy, Legislative Affairs & Community Engagement, it is crucial to ensure that the Core Values and Mission stay top of mind with all that you do.
A collaborative organizational structure where staff are accountable to multiple leaders.
The Director of Advocacy, Legislative Affairs & Community Engagement will work as a part of a close-knit team to cultivate relationships with community partners and advocacy groups for the purpose of enhancing mission, including expansion to new geographic areas.

Requirements:

  • Community / Non-profit experience 

  • Policy work / Government 

  • Housing / HUD experience / HOPWA / Housing Alliance 

  • Experience working with at-risk, low-income, and homeless population

  • HIV/AIDS 

  • Experience overseeing/managing staff/volunteers

  • Project management
