About the Role

The Senior Database Developer strengthens organizational impact by designing scalable data systems, improving reporting and analytics, and mentoring technical teams. This role blends deep technical expertise with leadership, collaboration, and strategic thinking.

What You’ll Do

Database Architecture & Development

  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models

  • Build stored procedures, functions, and ETL pipelines

  • Optimize high‑volume, data‑intensive systems for speed and reliability

SQL Expertise

  • Write and tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions

  • Monitor performance and implement improvements

Database Administration

  • Manage SQL Server or other database platforms

  • Oversee installation, configuration, backups, recovery, upgrades, and schema changes

Project Leadership

  • Plan database projects, define timelines, and ensure timely delivery

  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to align solutions with business needs

Troubleshooting & Reliability

  • Diagnose and resolve database and user issues

  • Maintain data integrity and system stability

Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Coach junior developers

  • Promote best practices, documentation, and knowledge sharing

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience in database development or administration

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, functions, and performance tuning

  • Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar enterprise database platforms

  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing

  • Familiarity with schema design, indexing strategies, and query optimization

  • Ability to manage backups, recovery, upgrades, and platform configuration

Professional Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams

  • Experience mentoring junior developers or leading small technical teams

  • Commitment to data governance and building a data‑driven culture

Preferred Experience

  • Background in BI, reporting, or analytics environments

  • Experience with cloud database platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.)

  • Familiarity with Agile or similar project methodologies

  • Healthcare or closely related industry experiences
