Research Associate/Lab Manager

The Research Associate plans and organizes research projects under the direction of a Principal Investigator. The Research Associate coordinates and provides technical direction to research lab staff, analyzes data to determine next objectives, plans and organizes research projects and establishes procedures to be used in executing research studies, and coordinates and provides technical direction to the work activities of the project staff to ensure efficient and cost-effective completion of the project. In addition, the Research Associate analyzes, interprets, compiles and reports project results to Principal Investigator and ensures that all safety procedures and research protocols are understood and adhered to by research staff members.

The Research Associate may also participates in internal and external educational activities including attending seminars, presentations, and journal club and will participate in mentoring activities.

The ideal Research Associate will have knowledge of basic lab techniques including pipetting, staining, culture techniques, and aliquoting, will have the ability to troubleshoot instruments and perform lab maintenance tasks, will have great presentation skills and will be skilled in use of computer software related to research needs including presentation and data analysis programs.
